♥ operation christmas shoebox, samaritans purse.

nicholas and i did this a couple years ago, but this is a great ministry that collects shoeboxes filled with gifts you put together and delivers them all over the world. you choose if you are buying for boy or girl and their age range. all the information is on this handy pdf and you can drop it off to a drop off location (national collection week is this week!) or just mail it. do 1 or do 5, it's not a lot and a great way to give back. we're doing ours tonight!

ok, seriously, what is better than going to a free filming with a performance by alicia keys and john legend? um, nothing! so i signed up at this site a while ago and i got free tickets to see the carson daily show with regina spektor as the muscial guest. it was amazing. carson wasn't. but regina was! anyway, i got an email that they're doing a cnn heroes taping with alicia + john, and they need seat fillers, this saturday. i think these are really talented artists. even if you don't like them, you really can't go wrong.
