for your saturday,
i just had to share this beautiful song i came across with you, it got me pretty emotional. it is titled, "white dove, fly high" performed by casting crowns.
they were invited to represent the us in the 2007 spring friendship art festival in pyongyang, north korea. so inspired by their trip, they recorded this korean peace anthem as a tribute. i think so many factors tie into why this song is so significant. the situation and history between north and south korea is heartbreaking. and a band from the us singing inside north korea is a big deal. you can read some articles about it here and here. anyway, i hope this song blesses you as it has me.
Pu li leun haneul ga eh
Hee mang eh nale pyuhgo
Han up she jayoo lo ee
Choom choo myu nali nae
Bee dul gee ya!
Bee dul gee ya!
duh no pee nal ah la
Nae jo gook ee po leun ha naneul
Gooleumee heuleejee ahngeh
High up in the blue sky
Wings of hope are spreading wide
A white dove is dancing
Flying free and happily
White dove,
White dove,
Flying higher and higher
Lest my country's clean and blue skies
Should be cloudy and grey.
푸르른 하늘가에
희망의 나래 펴고
한없이 자유로이
춤추며 날으네,
비둘기야!
비둘기야!
더 높이 날아라
내 조국의 푸른하늘
구름이 흐리지 않게
that was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely song!
ReplyDeleteI just learned from Faith Telegraph that Casting Crowns went to North Korea. That just blows me away that such a full tilt Christian music group would be allowed there.
The hand of God must have been in it.
