ama gift packs:

so about a week ago, with the help of nicholas, i spent some serious time making 100+ little gift bags for the american music awards gift lounge. i signed up with alison from the sampler as she was able to get a table at the gift lounge and would represent 30 handmade artists, giving out lots of free stuff to the celebs who came through.

i carefully sewed each tag, tied it with lace trim, and placed lots of oh, hello friend goodies inside the vellum bags. i really liked how they turned out... but am not sure that i would sew so many tags again, heh. it was a lot of work!

we also got the opportunity to display one item from our company on the table.. i chose an item that i felt would really represent my company and hopefully when they'd see my item they would remember it and associate it with the gift pack they received. here's the display i made up..

sadly, after the event, i got an email from the sampler saying that the necklace actually got stolen before any of the celebs came through :( so no one actually saw my display item. what a bummer. but oh well. i am all too familiar with people stealing (from selling at shows, hehe) and my gift packs were still included in the 100+ bags that got passed out and i'm glad i got a picture of my display. :: and like ivay said, "someone loved it so much that they even stole to have it!" lol, totally :) c'est la vie.

anyway: i actually have a really cool story about someone who came through unique los angeles last weekend and recognized my company from the ama gift bags: so i'll blog about that later. xo.
