okay, so first i must mention who is guest posting with us today. the lovely melanie of you are my fav!! second, i must say that her guest post came to me in email saying to simply copy and paste the entire html code she sent over and it would appear in my blogger editor, like a surprise! how absolutely and utterly CHARMING! hehe. it totally put a huge smile on my face ;) and it was a delightful surprise when i entered her guest post and 'previewed' and it revealed all her amazing images. melanie offers the best polaroid subscriptions. stop by her flickr for lots of inspiration and find her at p is for party and you are my fav jr! i am loving all these monthly banners (and her cute belt too!) melanie says she is not the most crafty but i totally disagree, she's amazing! thanks for all the inspiration melanie!

We all know that Danni is the queen of pretty packages. I can not even come close to her wrapping style. I'm one of those people who doesn't cut enough paper so I cover the gaping hole of paper with an extra wide piece of tape and maybe my "card" is a little piece of folded wrapping paper. Although my wrapping isn't up to par, I try to make up for it by putting together fun packages. My sister is one of the most festive people I know (she even goes all out for things like the summer solstice) so for her birthday this year I decided to make her garlands for every month of the year. Did I mention that garlands are my all time fave? So maybe this present was a little bit for me too.
January
February
March
April
May
(sorry, it got a little windy)
June
(there's a happy that goes along with this)
July
August
September
October
November
December
(these are actual silhouettes of all the family members)
I kept on changing my mind about which one was my favorite. In the end I think the striped ribbon and personal factor of December made it the winner. And now I kind of feel like I'm talking about a calendar of shirtless firemen.
I also should mention that I'm not the most crafty of persons so all of these are extremely doable, probably about a third grader level. Like I said, I'm not Danni. I hope you enjoy.
This is adorable!!! I love the idea, I think I'm gonna invent something similar. Thank you for the inspiration, Melanie!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant! I AM SLIGHTLY OBSESSED with all things bunting/garlands etc. so this is like the perfect thing for me to print and use as a calendar - blogging about this NOW at youareingoodcompany.blogspot.com. THANKS SO MUCH!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I have been following Mel's blog for a while but I never realised she had such a regular output of garlands! I would love to do this for my sister but I think her fiance would object. Instead, I make them for myself.
