we are having our wedding outside, at a park. there wont be any electricity so nick and i are trying to think of some lovely appetizers / h'orderves that we can serve during the reception, and find decor for the food table. does anyone have any ideas they can offer up for fun simple eats? :)
here are some images of table decor that i've
come across and bookmarked for inspiration:

ReplyDeleteAppes and snacks that require little or no heat might work...inspiration from the French patisserie?

ReplyDeletewow, these tables are alll soo beautiful!! and i am a HUGE fan of a fabulous appetizers/hor douerves table at a wedding! always a fan of the cocktail shrimp, coconut shrimp, cheeses and meat skewers! a candy buffet table or a cupcake buffet table would be nice too!!
ReplyDeleteI love what inspires you!
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking about food that will last in the sun? Perhaps mini goat cheese pizzas? Barefoot Contessa always has really good entertaining ideas.
How exciting!
ReplyDeleteWe just cut down this 100 year old hardwood tree (sad I know...but it was going to die). I cant stop thinking how magical it would be to have a large table with cupcakes, candy bowls and wine bottles on different size/height stumps...all clustered together.
I love the moss from photo #1! ♥
These are so fun!! I love the first picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm just saving all of these to my inspiration folder. I was trying to be selective, but let's face it, they're all awesome. I would love to be able to do things like this one day.

What a beautiful Gallery!
ReplyDeleteAmazing post!thanks for your kind words!
we had a large wedding and it has always been a tradition in my family to have cookie bars at wedding. I hadn't realized how many of my guests had never heard of (and were pleasantly surprised by!) the idea. We had 350 guests, 200 dozen cookies(thank you to all the mothers, grandmothers, and aunts that made that possible!) and a line at the table alll night long. not one SINGLE cookie left for us to take home! We arranged them on tiered glass and had them cascading from one to the next liek a cookie waterfall. SO fun!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those are so beautiful! Makes me want to get married all over again!
ReplyDeletethe first thing i thought of when i saw these images was fruit! think of all the color it adds to a spread. and it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love all of them! Soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteOur family just had a party and my sis made the prettiest fruit and veggie baskets. (it is on my blog under a celebration) We also made dill pickles wrapped in cream cheese and salami, a simple chile relleno that is cut and served cold, cheddar thumbprints, a flank steak salad, a shrimp and french bread salad. All were made ahead! Let me know if you want any of the recipes.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah our booze and berry table is there! thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love candy buffets. Ours was a huge hit at the wedding. I also love the hanging vases, perfect for a summer party
ReplyDeleteLovely inspiration! Your wedding is going to be fabulous, Lady!
ReplyDeleteThanks for including my breakfast buffet in this incredible round-up!
xo
I am so thrilled and honored that you are inspired by my woodlands chic dessert table {image #1}. Many, many thanks - and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I love the pink plates and peonies!
ReplyDeleteI think dumplings of any ethnicity are always a good treat and Asians love seafood (I can attest because our seafood towers were wiped out in 5 minutes at our wedding, scary!) Please let me know if you'd like any other suggestions - love all things wedding. :)
soooo many gorgeous things! i have no doubt your wedding will be gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous inspiration! I hope I can plan a handmade wedding with just as much inspiration in the near future! http://www.soapdelinews.com
ReplyDeleteitalian inspiration- olives, olive oil dipping sauce, and bread! that can probably be good without heat/cold. if something needs to be kept cold (shrimp, fruit, cheese) there are dishes that you can put ice in the bottom. dry ice (although a bit dangerous) will keep cold for a long time.
ReplyDeletemy cousin had a candy bar at her wedding and it was so much fun, and an inexpensive giveaway. she put pretty colored candy (yes, we planned colors!) in different sized cut glass jars and bowls and put out a bag.
your wedding is going to be amazing :)
Our friends had a Gelato cart it was very cool! Not sure what season you are getting married in though :-) They did hire it complete with 1 staff member to serve..
ReplyDeleteThese are really inspiring! I like the table with hanging bottles -- perfect for wine lovers!
ReplyDeleteWow, each one of these are amazing and beautiful and sweet. Great collection and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow,nice, one of the best read posts so far.
ReplyDeleteI can't get over those hanging bottles, what an awesome idea. And the Booze & Berries sign is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. Love these ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love these tables--those cakes on display are just divine ;)
ReplyDeleteso gorgeous! this is a beautiful collection. congratulations on your wedding too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Weddings are certainly different than when I got married just over 27 years ago!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I wounder if we could do it again, only this time a little more creatively....
My niece is getting married this Friday. They are doing a candy bar with popcorn, etc., showing Princess Bride on a big screen while everyone mills around. Lots of color and LOADS of sugar.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is getting married in a park next year. Can't wait! An idea for an app - bruschetta. Make them all ahead, or have little slices of bread with the topping in a dish for people to pile on themselves. Great hot or cold and nothing that will spoil too quickly! Check out allrecipes.com.
Blessings!

You had me at hello. That first image is delicious.
ReplyDeletehi hi!
ReplyDeletei love your blog! my friend said i simply MUST read it and so here i am. i'm an illustrator and designer and i love planning events.
not sure if you're still thinking of snacks, but there's a million things you can do with popcorn and it's ok to keep it outdoors. you can mix popcorn with parmesan and paprika, with garlic powder and brown sugar, with red pepper flakes and bacon bits. just put the stuff you like in a bag with the hot popcorn and shake. it's yummy and cool.
Cute stuff! I recognize a few of those from the Inspired Creations contest on EAD ;).
