Our first Christmas cards as newlyweds! As much as I wanted to make diy Christmas cards this year, I really had no time. So when I got an email from Night Owl Paper Goods about a sale on holiday cards, I decided to go with that. plus, I really love that these are printed on wood. Plus they come with a 2011 calendar printed on the back, so useful! (I'm all about calendars this year I guess) They had so many nice designs, Nick liked this one the best though :)
I designed a wrap around Christmas label for the envelopes but didn't get to take a picture. We got out of the hospital on Monday and I ran to the post office to send them off. I'm not sure if this will be a yearly thing for us, it kind of took me a while to get them together and I didn't even make them! (unlike Melanie's cute felt cards, which I'm sure took her a lot longer!) hehe. Did you send cards this year? I'd love to see pics if you blogged about it!
ps: in response to the comments below, I sent them in regular A6 envelope's (that I had leftover from the wedding, sweet!) and the postage was only .44 cents :)
Danni, your cards look so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree how much work Christmas cards can be, even the ones that are pre-designed. I went through Tiny Prints to get mine done & added a few touches of "Melissa" to them, so they'd be a little more personal.
I blogged about them here.
They look so beautiful!!! And i love the fact they have a calender on the back!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful, Danni! We sent these out this year: http://twoweasinapod.blogspot.com/2010/12/merry-and-bright.html

Those are gorgeous and so unusual being on wood - did you send many of them out (and were they expensive?)
ReplyDeleteI did make my own. I'm a would be artist and draw and paint when I get time outside of the 9-5! I've designed a range of cards featuring my two pups and also a sort of quirky townscape. My Christmas cards are here:

ReplyDeleteLOVE this idea!! i'll have to remember to do this for next year!! will you remind me!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThose cards are gorgeous Danni! I'm really ashamed now that I didn't get to send out Xmas cards this year. Our first time being married and not sending Xmas cards. I wanted to send them out Monday but J insisted it was too late. We never got around to taking a good photo. I LOVE your card so I'm going to file that one away for next year (or as I'm thinking maybe Valentine's or Chinese New Year Cards instead). Merry Christmas!

Your holiday cards are beautiful! I so badly wanted to make cards with our engagement photos & that didn't happen. I downgraded to ordering cards with our engagement photos & that didn't happen. At the last minute, we sent our regular cards. The holidays get so busy!

Such a beautiful color. I like that you didn't choose traditional holiday coloring!
ReplyDeleteLove the calendar on the back, such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI did a really simple (read: last minute) card design and just printed it on photo paper:

I love the design you guys chose! As much as I love to do things the DIY-way as much as possible, sometimes it's hard to resist adorable pre-made options, especially when time is running low. I hope your first Christmas as newlyweds is as joyous as your cards are beautiful! Happy Holidays!

i LOVE how your cards turned out! night owl's wooden cards have always been one of my faves and your christmas cards look great -- especially love the calendar on the back; that would give me a perfect reason to hang onto it because i always feel sad when i have to throw out the year's xmas cards.
ReplyDeletehere's a link to our christmas card this year: http://the-stationery-place.blogspot.com/2010/12/our-christmas-cards-2010.html
i also made a few of these as a back-up card :) http://the-stationery-place.blogspot.com/2010/12/quick-christmas-ideas-ribbon-tree-cards.html
are you joking me? these are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love these wooden Christmas cards. I usually make mine each year and you are right about the time that goes into them. I usually make an ornament out of our card. I ship them in boxes too:) Let's just say my Christmas list isn't super big:)They are almost like little gifts and do not cost .44 to mail. But I love to make them each year but I have scaled back on the deign lately. I hate to see sending Christmas cards through the mail go away but it's happening.
