the balloon castle is hands down my favorite. i hope i dream i'm frolicking around it tonight!
do you have wanderlust on the brain Danni? me too!!!!!! jon and i are hoping to go to europe next summer and possibly, Lord willing, catch an olympic event or two in London. any travel plans with the nick-ster coming up?
Castles on islands?! That is too cool. But my favorite is the one smack in the middle of lush green mountains. Mountains are my favorite natural landscape so that place would probably be too much for my little heart to handle. Haha.
Hi, I came by your blog through Design Sponge, such a cute wedding you had! Just wanted to let you know that the first unknown castle is Burg Eltz in Germany :)
Oh, yay! I was at the third picture from the top! That is actually an outbuilding of the main castle on the property. It's part of Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay, NY. There is a bowling alley in there. So cool!
I live just a few hours from Neuschwanstein and really have no excuse for not having wandered over yet. But, balloons! On castles! How completely wonderful.
the fifth and the last are neuschwanstein too from diffrent angles... and one i think is a other Friedrich castle, but i am not sure...the pics are sooo princess like!
wow! what a lovely post!! Oh, how I wish I was a princess! the mansion with all the colourful balloons on/around it is a photo by Tim Walker... My favourite ever photographer! Thanks for such beautiful pictures! :)
I'd love to take a trip and visit castles all over the world. They're so magical! Especially if situated on a mountain-top or completely surrounded by water :)
I live in Edinburgh - I get that beautiful view every time I hit the shops! It is truly wonderful to have a view like that in the city centre. I often reflect on how lucky I am to live here! x
OMG these are soooo cool. I would love to live in a castle and be like a proper princess even if it was just for a day. You even have the disney castle on there. Part of me is still wondering about Disneyland Paris longing to live in it :( I'm not kidding but I took about at lest 75 photos of it in the space of 4 days!!! That little collection was absolutely lovely. Thatnkyou for shareing. P.S. That first one in the snow was sooo beautifull. Like something out of a winter fairytale :)
These are so beautiful. I'm not 100% sure but the second from the bottom looks like the castle on Lake Bled in Slovenia. As I said I'm not completely sure but it looks like it. And I'll be able to confirm in June as I'm finally going to see it live. I'm almost giddy, been waiting years to go to Slovenia. P.S. Loved your wedding photos.
Wow!! Gorgeous photos, and amazing castles! Love the second one cause it's like we're sneaking a peek :) number 6 is as though it were out of a movie set! Number 9 is just perfect! number 12 is so dreamy and I love the natural mountain pinks with the bright red of the castle! Thanks for sharing :)
Gorgeous Pictures. Nice to throw in the Disney Castle :-). I especially liked the one on the water. Suggest something you love http://lllmusic.blogspot.com
Great line-up of some truly inspiring works of architecture...but you forgot the best one...the Alacazar in Segovia, Spain. I've only seen it in pictures, but it's a stunner.(thought I doubt it ever gets completely covered in snow...or balloons!)
So gorgeous! I absolutely love castles and am quite fascinated by them. I love going to them and thinking of how life must have been for those who lived there. And I love how Neuschwanstein Castle dominates this post, ha!
Congrats on being a "blog of note"! Your blog is very fun and I really enjoyed the wedding post! What a great way to have a lovely, meaningful, fun, simple but elegant and not bank busting wedding! Very refreshing to find young people like you! You'll go far in this life, I'm sure!
What magnificent buildings these castles are! The first picture is my favourite by far. Congratulations on becoming a blog of note and for having SO MANY followers! I've joined the list.
I've been to Neuschwanstein castle, and it was the most romantic place I've ever seen. I'm glad it got more attention than the other castles :) There's something so inherently romantic about castles, thanks for brightening my day :)
ooo, so pretty...I remember the first castle I saw in person, in Warsaw, Poland, when I was sixteen...hmmm I'm feeling the best sort of nostalgia right now. These are splendid. Whoever mentioned wanderlust is exactly right. I'd like to hop on a plane to Europe right now.

Oh my! They are stunning. Can you imagine that level of commitment in our age? The Millenium Dome seems to speak volumes of what is produced in 20th/21st Century :(
I live in the Western Isles, and we have a (smallish) castle here in Stornoway (funnily enough, I posted a photo on my blog yesterday).
just wow. ive always like been dreaming to travel one day and visit all the castles that existed in this entire world. and you inspired me more. thnaks..
I recognized the photo of the castle with the balloons and I searched, but couldn't find the link. :( It was a post on a wedding blog about a wedding that was inspired by the Pixar movie Up, and I remember it was a lovely wedding, but I can't remember where I saw it!
Hello! Your first picture is actually Hohenschwangau, and the fifth is Neuschwanstein if I remember correctly. You can look at http://www.hohenschwangau.de/ticketcenter.0.html - Both are beautiful inside and out!
I am not sure if someone said this already because i didnt read through all of the posts, but you have about 3 or 4 pics of Neuschwanstein. The last picture from Andrew is it, as well as the last picture all together... the castle looks different from different angles and dif. seasons :)
Very nice. I did not know much. Hungary is also a lot of us can see the castle. I lived near one of them. Very nice. There are several books on castles. But only one is visible in many parts of the world. http://www.konyv-konyvek.hu/book_images/11a/118423011a.jpg
