happy friday:

Photobucket
Hurray, Friday is here! Okay, so the current state of our place is messy! Don't judge :) But sometimes it's discouraging looking at all the beautiful images of offices and home decor magazines. I sometimes think to myself, hm. Can one's work space always be perfectly neat and tidy? Maybe I should just accept the fact that I'm not the most organized person in the world. Embrace my messiness!

Well, we are trying to clean up and make our house a home. I asked my husband what he wanted for his birthday and he says, "a clean house" so I've been trying to clean up, organize, and sell as much stuff as I can!

This is random but I thought I'd share it with you cause I'm proud ;) I tweeted this pic but that 3rd guy in from the left, that's my great uncle! Yea, he's just chillin, standing next to Angela Jolie. Has anyone seen Kung Fu Panda 2 yet? He was the voice of Mr. Ping. He's been in a lot of things actually, over 350 titles at imdb! Maybe you've seen him around. Nick & I haven't seen a movie in a really really long time, but we're hoping to see it.

Anyway, if you're in the LA area this weekend, I highly recommend stopping by Kim & Brandy's charity bake sale tomorrow! Get yummy treats and support a good cause.

What are your weekend plans? I just want to sit, relax, and enjoy not being at a craft show this weekend! Hope you all have a beautiful weekend, see you on Monday! xo.

  2. Good luck with the tidying! I find that people's idea of mess is comparative--my messy room is a friend's neatest point.

  9. About a clean workspace... When I was in high school and touring colleges, I reported back to my HS art teacher that the art studio at one college looked nice. I said, "It was really clean!"
He replied, "Beware of a clean workspace. It could mean that no work is being done!"

I embrace my messy studio. :0)

  10. I'm with JessicaJane. My guess is the camera guy taking pictures for the mag is probably standing waist high in junk that got shoved to the back of the room during the "cleaning" for the photo shoot. ;)

  12. If nothing else, seeing your space made me feel better! That such beautiful stuff can come out of it! We have two home businesses and two offices, and have been working for weeks to get organized! It's hard! I even had a nightmare last night about our offices!

  13. i'm so glad i'm not alone with my messy space! the cleanest/most organized my office space has ever been was the day there was nothing in the room except desks and a bookcase. now with 50 billion work-in-progress projects it resembles something out of TLC's "Hoarders". eeps.

  14. You are SO brave to share your messy space online! That makes me feel so much better about myself, because I always see "behind the scenes" type posts on blogs where people will say they're not styled at all and they're ridiculously neat.

Being messy can be a part of being a creative soul. It's not always true, but it happens pretty regularly. So a clean house would be nice, but hey, if you can still work and create in a messy space, who really cares?

(Blade Runner) I sincerely hope you've seen it & and I also hope you will forgive my delurking just to tell you that I'm super excited to be connected in this tiniest of ways to one of my favourite movies!! Thanks!!

  18. That's pretty much the state of my craft room as well a our office (although...my craft room is much worse). So yeah, don't feel too alone :) Not making an excuse for my lack of organization BUT, it would help to have a larger space/more moola to buy storage things. OH WELL. Guess we'll have to make it work!

  19. I commiserate with you on your messy studio.. and the discouragement these impeccably photographed studios some bloggers and magazine features seem to inhabit! I just cannot imagine being so... minimalist? In my work environment. I suppose these people in turn could not imagine ever creating anything in the chaos I trudge through.. hehe! Different strokes...

  20. I was just thinking the other day, about how discouraging it is to see so many overly orderly studios and homes. I'm not very tidy myself and want to emulate these homes, but i really just need to learn to love myself and the way i am.

    Thanks for posting this. :)

AND super cool about your uncle!!

    smiles,
    Jenipher :)

  22. I have embraced the chaotic messiness in my workroom but have been pushing really hard to have a nice and clean and organized house in all the other rooms! I want it to be pleasant and not ALL feel like a tornado. So all weekend I was cleaning every room, besides for my craft room! It's still a disaster. hahaha. Maybe slightly less messy than yours ;) but I love you for it!!!!!

  23. Thanks for sharing the messy space. I just came back from a craft show this weekend and dumped everything.... my studio looks like a bomb went off. Now the challenge of arranging!
