Pizza Kit:

So I went to Ruby's house a little while back and we had homemade pizza. It was so good! I went to play 'grocery store' with True & Brave and when I came back out, Ruby's entire kitchen was clean and there was a little bag with all the ingredients to make my own pizza at home!

First use a rolling pin and spread dough on pan. Now, I thought I had a rolling pin but it turns out I don't. How un-domesticated am I? I know, I know. Pretty silly I don't even have a rolling pin. But hey, I improvised and used a pretty flower cup to flatten out the dough ;)

Spread oregano.

Spread tomatoes and basil. Just for the record, when Ruby was cooking the pizza at first, she was like, "I need some basil, be right back" and she stepped outside. I though to myself, "where is she going?" and yea, she just went to pick some of her fresh basil growing outside in her garden. Legit! I can only hope to be like Ruby one day! ;)

Place cheese on only half for Nick's side.. because I think I mentioned to you guys - I don't like cheese! I know some of you may think that is crazy but hey, I met someone the other day who doesn't like fruit! That's gotta be more crazy, right? ;) Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Yum! I love homemade pizza!

ps: Ruby, I'd like another pizza kit please! ;)

  1. I love making homemade pizza! There's something so therapeutic about kneading the dough. Flour gets everywhere, but I don't care - that's the fun of it! When my niece and nephew were here we had a pizza making party with my friends kids and they loved it!

    Sooo yummy!

And girl, you don't have a rolling pin?!! WHAT?!!! You've gotta get one!

  2. Looks delicious!! Is that wheat dough?

I used to not like cheese either - but then I started to, slowly, but it's still hard for me to eat even small chunks w/o some sort of cracker/chip!

Also - I have some fresh basil in a little pot outside my kitchen!! I love it! I grew some - it died. I tried again, with an already sprouted/purchased plant - it died. Tried again...MAJOR success! Three seeds sprouted and there's so much right now I never know what to make with it!!! It's a lot easier than you think - you can just grow it in a little container on your patio!

  3. I don't like melted cheese at all. No grilled cheese, no cheese pizza, no cheese burger.

  8. Yum! The pizza pics are making me hungry. I have a recipe for pizza dough that you don't have to knead. You "knead" it in a food processor then you let it rest for 45 min. (Note: 45 min. can be a really long wait when you're hungry!) Then I just use my hands to press out the dough. I once tried spinning it on my fist like you see in the movies. Um, yeah, that didn't go so well. LOL.

  9. I can't eat cheese (I used to... but i formed a strange allergic reaction to it a little over a year ago), so I had to cut all dairy out of my diet. Pizza is what I miss most... I do make me own cheese-less as well!

  14. I love reading about your friend Ruby and her little ones! And today I was reminded of one of my favorite early reader chapter books -- Ruby Lu, Brave and True (http://www.amazon.com/Ruby-Lu-Brave-True-Hardback/dp/0689849079)!!!

We love making homemade pizza too -- I highly recommend investing in a pizza stone for use in your oven if you start doing the pizza on a regular basis, you can also make awesome biscuits on it!

  15. Mmmm! Homemade pizza is the best! I think I need to make it again soon.

My 6yo daughter doesn't eat fruit. Not any kind. Well, not if it's fresh, anyhow. She'll eat it cooked, dried, juiced, blended into smoothies, and pretty much any other way you can think of; but not fresh. That's weird.

  22. Okay, so I just made pizza the other night but was too scared to home-make the crust so I bought Artisan's Freshetta whole wheat crust... Darn! I wish I'd seen this first!!! Oh well... next time!
    It looks DELICIOUS!
P.S. You're such a weirdo for not liking cheese. Good for your Cholesterol, I suppose... but come on, woman!

  23. Do you not like fromage either? Even though it's French cheese, I consider it a distant relative of all other cheeses.

The pizza looks delicious! The crust really looks delicious, and making it sounds fun~ Thanks for sharing!
