So I mentioned this already but back in August, I got a new haircut. Then a couple weeks later, Nicholas got really tired of his beard. He said the exact moment came when he was eating chicken wings at lunch, took a bite, and the sauce got all in his beard. haha. I said he should wait and hold out until Halloween or something. He hadn't cut his hair since our wedding (a whole year!) But he was done with it. So here are some pics from 'the transformation' ;)
Before:
After:
I have never had my hair this short, ever! I love it though. You gave me a lot of good feedback, I wanted to do pixie but Nick wasn't so for the idea. So this was good, he likes it a lot. It's so light and easier than my long hair. It was pretty drastic - I mentioned maybe I could donate my hair so when I went in, the hairstylist put it in a pony tail and just chopped it right off! haha, it was nice and organized but eeek, it was intense!
Nick's transformation:
So right when Nick shaved his beard and we looked at each other, we both burst out laughing. He looked so young! I missed the beard + long hair look for a while. The change was kind of drastic, and took some time to get used to. But I do like this look now.. I really think he looks handsome either way! He said his face and ears are more cold now ;) But he likes this look too.
Change is nice.. I totally recommend it. What do you think of Nick's look? Short hair or long hair? If you're thinking about a new look - just go for it! It will always grow back! :)
you two are both soo cute!! i can just picture you two looking at each other after the transformation and falling in love all over again with each other! ;) i think nick looks great either way (younger without hair) but its always fun to change up a look once in awhile!! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, I also got married on the 25th September last year and my husband also grew a beard from that date! Spooky.
ReplyDeleteOkay I never really comment on people looks...but you and the sir look AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteWould have never guessed they were the same people!
GOOD stuff!

I love the new looks! You guys are cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the new looks! Nick looks great either way, but this short style seems so modern and fresh. So, for him short gets my vote. For you, well you are just absolutely beautiful with both long and short!
ReplyDeleteI prefer Nick's clean cut look, very cute. As is your new cut! Fun.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh your husband looks so handsome with short hair (and without the beard :P)!!! I didn't recognise him with the long hair after seeing your wedding video, pwoahhh!!
ReplyDeleteI really like both your long and short hair! Your long, slightly wavy hair has a really sweet look and your shorter hair looks really cute!
He looks so much better with short hair and no beard!!! you can actually see what he looks like! I'm all for a little facial hair, or a little stubble, but honestly his beard was a little too much! He looks much better with short hair! You've got yourself a cutie there!
ReplyDeleteAnd i love your hair too, i just cut all mine off too, about the same length as yours, and i LOVE it, although i am missing my long hair recently!

Whoa!! I wouldn't have recognized Nick if you hadn't have done this post! :) I like beards but I think a fresh start is always good! :) My hubs is currently growing his beard out. I wonder if he'll take Nicholas approach in a year! :)
ReplyDeleteYou both look really cute with your new transformation!!
ReplyDeleteYou folks look great! I'm pro-beard, but he looks really nice! Yay for new looks!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! Your man's is a complete transformation! You both look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy hubs wears a beard too... but not quite like that one. I bet it must feel amazing to have all that hair gone!
Wow! Nick looks so different! It was hard to see what his face looked like under all that hair, but he looks good both ways, and so do you! Do you think that clean-shaven or shaggier match his personality more?

you both look fantastic! Love the new hair cuts!
ReplyDeleteI grew my very short hair out for our wedding and just this past weekend cut it short again. I love and so does my husband. Very strange, usually men love long hair. Glad mine doesn't :)
You guys look great! Nick's transformation is amazing....he looks like a different person :).
ReplyDeleteYou are both adorable! But Nick, what a huge transformation! Don't ever go back!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked hair a little on the long side when it comes to guys. Nick looks so different, he looks good but his beard was an awesome color, I think I'm pro hair-beard combo! But you look incredibly cute with your new haircut :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day

Wow tough call. They are bot SO different so it's hard to compare. I guess I preference is the short version. It's a good look on him. And your hairs looks totally adorable on you. I like it better than your before pic =)

I dig the new look! Look young while you are!
ReplyDeleteYou both look STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your hair! I have been growing mine out for my wedding, and I can't wait to cut it afterwards! I am constantly changing it though, I get bored easily!
ReplyDeleteAnd not to insult the before, but damn girl, your man is looking good all clean shaven. It's incredible that it's the same person! wow.
Nick's haircut is a breath of fresh air - you can see his [cute] face again! Yours is adorable as well, of course :)
ReplyDeleteWowzers! Both of you are looking great, but Nick's transformation is like a totally different person! :) I like it! (although I can totally see how it would be a hard adjustment...did you wake up the next morning completely disoriented when you saw him in bed with you??? LOL)

Wow, he looks completely different! Like a new person! I love your cut too! I cut mine that short once, then promptly complained for the next two years while it grew out. Ooops! :) I love your outfit with the white skirt! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteYou both look very stylin'. He looks so handsome with or without the beard!
ReplyDeletelove the new look - he looks fantastic! and you two are just too cute. :)
ReplyDeleteyou'd look great with any haircut! and nick well he just looks like 2 completely different people to me, his facial features seem so much more angular without the hair. either way you're both rock stars!
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation! Love the new look on both of you.
ReplyDeleteLove both of the new looks!!! You guys are a perfect couple.
ReplyDeleteI love it! You BOTH look great :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a beauty and your man is very handsome. You look gorgeous either way but when it come to men I generally prefer the clean shaven look and shorter hair. What a lovely couple you are!
ReplyDeleteWe joke that my boyfriend looks like the brown-haired version of Nick. Like almost exactly twins. But with Nick's new clean-cut look, that similarity is gone. I think Nick would look fantastic with a little more beard/mustache stubblyness. Otherwise, he looks so handsome!! And your short hair makes you look more like a woman than a college girl. I think it's perfect for you! You look young and fresh, but put together and professional. You both just look so lovely!!
ReplyDeleteI love the new looks!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the short. My honest opinion is that the long really doesn't suit Nick. It makes him look old and just... disheveled. Always, always stick with the short hair!
ReplyDeleteyou both look great. love his clean look. and you, darling!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your comments everyone! Lots of them made me chuckle ;) I think the consensus is SHORT hair.. I do think it's cool how Nick can look completely different with different hair styles. Love how lots of you said, "there's a good looking face under there" hehehe, pretty funny! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great! I chopped my hair earlier this year too, and am loving the shortness now!
ReplyDeleteHe looks very handsome with a clean cut 'do. Yours is adorable too!
ReplyDeleteWoah, he looks like a totally different person! I like your haircut, too. :)
ReplyDeletewhoa the transformation is amazing. You look so cute! And him very handsome!
ReplyDeleteWOW. He looks like a totally different person! Love the new look.

Your post came at just the right time. I'm getting my hair cut thursday and I needed the motivation to do something different. I have had long hair for the majority of my life. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou both look great with both! But the shorter cuts seems somehow more...refreshed. Youthful. You know? At least you know Nick looks great scruffy! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Nick looks so different! I, personally, am a fan of the short hair, clean shaven look. And your short hair is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteno way! you look great and nick: waaaaaay better now! (sorry, but it was tooo beardy :D)
ReplyDeleteCute!! I love both of your new and old looks..you two are lucky like that, great looking either way:) I am a fan of guys with long hair but i agree beards can be kinda messy. Usually my boyfriend doesn't shave in the winter because it keeps his face warmer haha
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn hun!
Thats a vast difference for the boy..you look cute either :O)
ReplyDeleteWow! Your husband looks so different with no beard. Both looks suit him though. And your new, shorter hairstyle is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI think you both look great! I love your hair cut and Nick looks good clean shaven. I'm all for guys with beards and slightly longer hair but his was a bit scraggly. ;)
ReplyDeletewhat a huge difference! your hair looks lovely & nick looks dashing clean shaven!
ReplyDeleteshort hair all the way! you both look golden. what a good looking couple! ;)
ReplyDeletej.
OMG...he looks so young without beard. What a transformation! I love your new hair cut!
ReplyDeleteYou both are completely adorable! Maybe if he decides to try the beard again he can do what the Danish guys are doing right now... trimmed beard with super trimmed hair except for the top which is long. I keep telling my husband he should try it except he cannot grow a beard! Hugs from Copenhagen!
ReplyDeleteYou both look so gorgeous! I love him without the beard as you get to really see his handsome face! Good choice! xx
ReplyDeleteit's weird how he looks COMPLETELY different! Like a different person....so funny!
ReplyDeleteLove your new hair :)
Short! He's so adorable and was hiding it behind all of that hair - on his face AND head. You guys are just as cute as can be, and you both look GREAT with your new looks. I'd love to cut off my hair (pixie short) but it's curly and everyone is telling me DON'T DO IT!! :)
ReplyDeleteNick look aweasome. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute too!
It's not easy for someone to pull on vintage style, but you did it! You're awesome!
The both of you are!
"If you're thinking about a new look - just go for it! It will always grow back! :)"
ReplyDeleteYES! I am in the habit of changing my hair style a few times every year and whether it be a drastic cut or an outrageous colour, I always find myself giving admirers of my so-called 'courage' to don't think - JUST DO IT! IT GROWS BACK!
I turned 30 this year and in my short life so far I've had waist length jet black hair, a short bob with a pink streak, a wedge with a very severe undercut, dark brown, red, orange, ginger, platinum blonde, hot pink, candy pink, mid length with hair extensions, fringes/bangs, crazy layered crops, and everything in between. Two weeks ago, I walked into a salon (after growing my hair out to my shoulders) and told the stylist to give me an Agyness Deyn (Google her!) and have those clippers handy.
I love the new cut and everyone around me seems to love it too - even strangers stop me to tell me so.
Kudos to you both for diving into change headfirst. We're not brave, we're living the one life we have with no regrets!
x
OHMYGOODNESS!
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT believe how different your husband looks with his shaved/cut look.
and your hair is adorable. i did pixie two years ago and my dad still cries when he thinks about it (p.s. i absolutely loved it.) New hair-dos are always fun!
