Nicholas often has to work late at his job. (we're talking over 12 hour days sometimes!) A couple months ago, he was working late all week and so I made him some encouraging notes, to help through those long nights. It is so funny because a reader, Torrie, actually just commented last Friday about wanting to see some more 'book of notes' posts, so this post is for you Torrie! ;)

You two are such a cute couple, and this is just a precious idea. Thanks for sharing! I will keep this little project in mind.
ReplyDeleteI totally should have done this when I went to Europe for a month. He would have loved this.
ReplyDeleteThis one is so lovely! My husband just started a new job (his first "real" job) and he's working a lot and traveling some--I wrote a bunch of cards for him, but I think I'll change it up and do a book like this next time he's on the road!
ReplyDeleteThe google maps directions don't work now. :-/
ReplyDeletei remember when you made your other book of notes - it inspired me to make one for Ryan and he LOVED it!!! i think you just inspired me to make him a second one - since we're long distance right now, i'll mail it to him. always love these posts, danni!
ReplyDeleteWHERE do I sign up for tips on how to make a really cool and thoughtful book/page like this! I also call Jon my love! Did you print out the "hello my love" on paper and cut it out? Also the Google maps circle, was that printed with a stamp like print overlayed on it? I LOVE your thoughtfulness Danni! I'm sure it made his long weeks a little more tolerable knowing he had a wonderful wife to come home to!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet idea, so touching and personal x
ReplyDeletethis is SOO stinking cute danni!!! :D
ReplyDeleteYes!!! TIPS PLEASE :D
ReplyDeleteDanni! You are so creative and inspiring! I am so making this for Joey!! And since I'm making handmade gifts this year, this would be so fun to make for everyone! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow great! I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is in the same industry so I know how it feels for you and him when they have to work those long hours :) I randomly bake his favorite cookies to put a smile on his face when he comes home looking like a zombie, but this sounds like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I bet he felt recharged and like a million bucks after getting this. What a sweet idea.

your creativity just kills me! and inspires me haha! i always want to try and do things like this and then I remember to do it maybe a day before I want it done and needless to say, it does not happen. I need to make my self a little note to remember to make a little note for someone else!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! I am a little sad though that Google maps no longer calculates directions from China to Taiwan. Just says unavailable. Silliness corrected :(
ReplyDeletei love it!! thanks for this "[book of] notes" post! it's really nostalgic for me because i grew up with The Jolly Postman book that you mentioned in your other "Envelope Book" post and I could sit for hours just opening all the envelopes and reading all the letters in it as a kid!
ReplyDeleteso, where do you get all of those different types of CUTE envelopes?!
This is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love every tiny little bit of this! Such a sweet idea.
ReplyDeleteMac was eager to plan our Friday snack last night. He was asking in disbelief, "Danni really is coming here?" :)
Danny this is absolutely lovely. I am going to take inspiration from you and make one of these for Mr B, and another for my step-daughter, both of whom are in need of some extra love and encouragement right now. Thank you!
ReplyDeletethis is such a sweet idea. i've got lots of fun ephemera in my craft drawers - time to put it to a good use!
ReplyDeleteI mean Danni not Danny. So sorry!!! Please blame the fact that is is currently 3.42am and I have already been up for over an hour. You can call me Naomy next time, to get back at me. :-(
ReplyDeleteMy fiancé works crazy hours as well! These notes are so cute, I should make him some too :-) Thanks Danni!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful gift and so sweet! I'm definitely going to add this to my to-do list. Thanks for all the inspiration! :)

ReplyDeleteHey, Could you give me some ideas for different types of notes to put in the book? I love all of these books of notes :)
ReplyDeleteyou are freakin CREATIVE!! what a thoughtful thing to do for your partner! my fiancé and I write notes back and forth to each other in a special notebook, not only is it a chronicle of our lives together, but it's the best to come home to a hand written note, makes us feel really young ;))
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely, Danni! Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteGosh, just tried it again on Google Map:
ReplyDeleteAnswer: We could not calculate directions between China and Taiwan.
The following is real answer provided by Google Map few months ago. Really had a great laugh then.
