This book of notes will be filled with lots of little surprises, don't want to give too much away.

There will be 2 lucky winners and we'll also give away a book of  notes kits as well to 2 more winners. You can choose if you'd like to receive your book of notes filled out or blank, so you can fill it out and send it on to someone else. (it'll still come with all the little gifts)

To enter, simply leave a comment with why you love notes .. either sending or receiving notes. Giveaway ends on April 1st. For an extra chance to win, post a photo on instagram and be sure to tag @ohhellofriend + include hashtag #ohfbookofnotes :)

  2. This is one of the cutest giveaways ever! I love recieving & giving notes and letters. They just make you feel loved, and special. There is nothing like opening a note knowing that someone took the time to write that for you. Giving Gifts & Letters is also one of my love languages, so I also have an extra appreciation for them.

Thanks! I can't wait to see who the {very} lucky winner is :D

  3. The thing I love about notes is the personalization of them; the type of paper or card hand selected to be written on, the time that goes into writing a message, the joy of receiving them. Email is efficient and necessary, but writing a note takes time and tells the recipient you are worth my time!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Such a cute giveaway! I love giving and receiving handwritten notes, gives a sense of personality and connection. It also makes me feel loved that someone would take the time to do that, especially since texting or instant messaging is so much more convenient now.

    Thanks for the chance!

  5. Oh me, oh my! I have loooong been a fan of note. My mom used to leave little one in my lunchbox when I was in grammar school & later, under my pillow. I love how a tiny slip of paper can lift someone's spirits or make them feel loved. I still leave them for my family and friends

  6. In a world of emails and text messages, nothing is better than sending a note in the mail -- I love surprising friends when they finally get around to checking the mailbox!

i love the personal nature of notes-- sending and receiving them is such a pick me up and makes you slow down and notice in this rushrush world.

  10. mm, this would be lovely! I'd love to have it blank and be able to send it on to someone special, perhaps not right away, but keep it for a bit and write something every now and then. Like little letters :) so much better than texts/email, so much more tangible, and I think the rareness of receiving a letter/note now makes them that much more special!
    Thanks for this opportunity!

  11. What a fantastic giveaway! Who DOESN'T love your brilliant book of notes Danni?

I absolutely adore receiving handwritten notes. They're so nostalgic to me and remind me of when my friends and I used to trade write in journals to each other and trade them back and forth eager to see what the other person wrote. Jon is not a big note writer, but he articulates himself beautifully in notes, so I save every note from him because I feel like there's so much thought behind the words he's chosen to write to me. I also love giving notes because I like doodling friends names and trying to make them feel valued and thought of through a good ol'hand written note.

LOVE your notebooks! What an exciting giveaway!

  12. I love your book of notes, but I've never owned one. I'd be shy to start using it, though, it's so lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love this! I work with a lot of volunteers in my job at a non-profit. My boss and I make a point to write handwritten notes because they mean so much than a email or standard letter of thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  16. What a fun giveaway. :) I love sending and receiving notes simply because they are so tangible - holding something that a loved one held, seeing their personality so clearly in their writing, and perhaps catching the faint memory of the scent of their home. It's commonplace, perhaps, but also magical.

    ReplyDelete
  17. totally love this idea! Notes are fabulous because they are fun now (writing them) later (reading them) and ages way (looking back at old notes and re-reading them)!

    ReplyDelete

I absolutely love sending and receiving notes, because of the beauty, joy and potential they convey. And, there is unlimited potential with what you can create with paper, meaning that the fun of sending notes never ends!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love these notes! But seriously, I love sending notes to people I love because when I open my mail box and see that I have a just-because note, my heart beats faster as I open the envelope, and what's inside makes my day, week and sometime month. I love to be able to give that to other people too!

I love the written word and there's nothing that can replace how personal, special, and intimate a hand-written note is.

  74. Just the act of writing by hand helps clear my head--especially early in the morning. I make it a point to write something by hand early in the morning before everyone gets up because it clears my head and gets me thinking creatively before I'm bombarded with screens and content, content, content.

  100. Honestly, there's a certain feeling of excitement whenever I receive mail (unless it's junk, of course). I just get filled with wonder about what's inside, especially if it's a personal note. I'm temporarily residing in AZ, though I'm from MI, and I'm actually doing a pen-pal thing with my friend who moved to MA last year. So hand-written notes are just fun and personal and really exciting to both give and receive, especially because it brightens my day and hopefully theirs too!

  131. I love your "book of notes" idea, and I've done it a few times as birthday gifts for my friends! Always a huge hit :)
It's creative and personal to make, and people definitely love receiving them!

  132. Oh! I love these little books of notes! I've tried to make one before after seeing your posts on them, but mine don't have the finesse of the ones you make. You always have the best supplies! I love exchanging notes with my husband to remind him that I love him. We've been exchanging notes ever since our first monthaversary of dating! (He started the tradition and we're up to 27 months now!)

I would love to receive a blank one so we could continue our tradition. I would love to gift it to him on our first anniversary of marriage (Also our 31st monthaversary).

  133. These are too cute! I love getting and sending physical, handwritten notes rather than emails or texts. It makes the note so much more personal and feels more heartfelt.

  136. My love language is definitely words of encouragement, but mostly written. I just can't convey them as well in spoken word. This is such a beautiful way to do it!

  137. I absolutely loved the idea of the book of notes. I always give my mom cards and like writing her little messages. The best part is to see her smile after receiving the notes.
I wish I could receive such a wonderful present, but in my family and circle of friends it is not that appreciated.
I would give this to my mother, or to my sister because she moved to a new house. Or to my best friend in college, as a graduation present.

  138. I love taking notes, because I really want to remember the important moments... I love receiving notes, because they remind me of high school... For me it's much easier to write, that talk :)

  140. I love getting little notes or cards in the mail. My husband sometimes leaves me little messages on our chalkboard or my notebook. People overlook the beauty of paper these days so I love sending notes too to really remind people they are loved.

  141. My grandma was my pen pal for years and years. When I was in college, I would read her letters aloud to my roommates (because my grandma was a nut and a fabulous writer, her letters were always phenomenal). She passed away a few months ago, and I've been missing my notes terribly. I have started to write a note a month to send to a friend in hopes that they feel as good as I did whenever I got one from Grandma :)

  142. Wow, I love this super lovely handmade notebook made by you! The only thing I got the past few months were bills... *sigh* And a handwritten letter, cards, or anything that involves paper is so nice to get in the mail - especially your notebook! I definitely need a new one since I'm taking so many notes for the e-course of Holly Becker's Blog Boss! :-) Keeping my fingers crossed. ;-)

  144. Maybe you are doing spring cleaning. Or moving to a new place, near or far. Perhaps a new phase of life is beginning, or you have reached the end of one. You open a drawer, or a closet. You take a box off a shelf. And you find a little note that brings back a feeling, a memory. It evokes a smile, a sigh, or a tear to fall.

  145. These days with texting and emails, hand-crafted letters are a step above with Book of Notes being such a creative and intimate way to make words of encouragement so much more than just a simple hallmark card. I would love to receive a Book of Notes (already put together since you are so much more creative than I) to give to my cousin who is in Afganistan at the moment fighting for our country. I know that he loves receiving letters from friends and family and I can't think of a better person to receive a specially crafted book of notes than him for serving.

I think that it makes people feel special, because someone have took the time to do something for you.
I would like to receive it blank, just to make (with the little presents) a very personal note for someone.
    Thank you!

  151. Looking back now I can see that note-giving became/was/is a love language for my husband & me. Even before we were dating (and "just friends") he started a pattern of leaving notes in manila envelops on my car windshield at university. Note giving included: paper airplanes flown into his office at school, diagrammed drawings of date ideas, secretly-tucked notes into each other's backpacks. Now we've been married for almost 2 years & every note he's ever given me is in a box on a shelf. And, yes, we still give notes!

    ReplyDelete
  155. I love getting notes because they mean somebody took a moment just for you. My husband writes me a post-it note every morning before he leaves for work and puts it on my computer. Do you know I save every one?

And of course, I simply love receiving a deliciously long letter in the mailbox {I mean...who doesn't?!}. Thanks for hosting!

  161. The warm fuzzies you get when personalizing, sending, and recieving notes is incomparable. There is nothing that Facebook or an email can do to quite match the beautiful uniqueness a note brings. It is the most thoughtful and loving act in the subject of written communication. Additionally, as a designer I melt over cute, well-designed things on lovely paper!

I am really sold on them and would love to win.... have a very good day.

    ReplyDelete
  169. This is so fun! I think it's important to give handwritten notes some press. There is nothing like the feeling of opening your mailbox and seeing a cute note from your best friend, decked out in washi tape and fun stamps. Or returning to your car and seeing that a friend has left you some love. Or my personal favorite, sticky notes of love found around the house from my husband. :)

  172. I love to give and receive notes -- words have so much power to deeply encourage and strengthen us. I have enjoyed writing encouraging notes since I was a little kid. I would write them to friends, teachers, and my mom, and sometimes give anonymous notes too. There was a time when I would write a letter to my mom almost every day, even though we lived in the same house. I would write the letters using different colored Pentel markers that came in a set.

  173. I LOVE notes. I love having a tangible expression of my love for someone else or their love for me - something I can hold on to and keep for days when I doubt myself. Words of affirmation are my love language, and notes are a natural result of that. I've always admired your books of notes and can't wait to make one for someone special!

  176. I love notes because they're unexpected and so rare these days. It's always hard for me to keep quiet when I send someone something, because I'm so eager for them to receive it! It's also a sign that you are extra special for someone to take the time and effort to handwrite a note. I still use the postal service quite a bit and love receiving those rare letters!

  182. I have always loved giving and receiving notes. When I was in elementary school, my next door neighbor and I would exchange notes and little gifts (like those that come out of the old gumball machines.) We would sneak to each other's window and tape a little folded message or gift to the other girl's window as a surprise. We did this regularly until we were in Junior High. Your book of notes makes me think back to those days (so long ago!!)

    ReplyDelete
  183. Love receiving them...a bright spot in an ordinary day that makes me stop and sit and read. Love sending them...a way to let others know you are thinking of them and you appreciate them. To know someone is thinking of you can make the darkest days brighter!

    ReplyDelete
  184. I love sending them and knowing that you have made someone else smile for such a little thing and LOVE love love recieving them- especially as my postbox is out in the cold and it is so sad when you go to check and you have no post!

  186. i'm super sentimental, and a note is something a person can keep and treasure forever! so whenever i receive them, i always keep it. i have every card, letter, note i've ever received in a boxes.

words (notes) expressing encouragement, affirmation, and just happy things are the best! and in this day and age, emails is what gets sent the most. notes/snail mail is slowly phasing out... make notes all the more special. :)

I do love sending AND receiving lovely notes, though! I set a goal this year to send at least 100 letters/postcards/notes. :)

  190. Great giveaway! I love hand-written notes because they are little pieces of someone that you give or receive. Handwriting says so much about someone! Handmade notes are even better.

  191. I've been addicted to writing notes and letters (and receiving them!) since fifth grade (1967) when I got my first pen pal who lived in East Pakistan. She disappeared for awhile during their revolution (when they became Bangladesh), and years later emigrated to the US. We lost contact for many years.

Nothing could beat getting a handwritten note in the mail. It wasn't just the words, it was the handwriting and the personality that came through.

It's been over 45 years and she and I still send Christmas cards and handwritten notes. I still have some of the letters from so long ago and could never bear to throw them away. I hope that my letters over the years elicit the same sentiments.

Thank you for sharing your talent with your customers. We really do appreciate it. In fact, we should send thank you notes! :)

    ReplyDelete
  192. I love giving notes because I can show how much I care for someone or let them know that I was thinking of them. Plus, in this age of instant and shallow communication, it really shows love and thoughtfulness.

  195. During my observations today, I saw two students passing a note during independent work time. Even though the teacher in me was rolling its eyes, the kid in me was reliving fond memories of the ridiculous notes my friends and I passed--always a hello, random thoughts, and wonky illustrations. I loved it.

I still love writing and reading notes. It feels just a teensy bit rebellious and always so thoughtful.

  196. Receiving hand-written notes have always been one of my most joys in life ever since I was in kindergarten!(still have them in a little note box in my desk ;) ) I'm still a young teenager (turning 16 in October), but I have always been interested in small things. I bought a book of notes from your store before and I sent it to an old friend that lives all the way across the country!!Giving small things to people just for the heck of it makes me super happy and I want to continue doing it for as long as I can, and that's gonna be a long time :) Thinking about all the small things people do for others, nothing makes me happier than thinking that there is good and happiness even in the darkest of places. Sending and receiving notes is just something I want to do with more people, and share with as many as I can.

  197. I LOVE sending notes. It's sending pure goodness into the world... and you might even get something special back!

  198. I love notes! It's a tradition of mine to write little messages of encouragement for my friends before homeroom on monday mornings. My mom leaves little notes in funny places around the house. Like she'll put a little piece of paper under the table cloth that says 'time to wash the table cloth, huh?'. We find them in all these hidden places. My grandmother used to leave notes in random places too and even after she's died we still once in a blue moon come across them in her old jewelry boxes or photo albums. It's this unintentional way of leaving a piece of your life behind. Notes, old library cards with dates of when books were checked out, letters, I love to collect and send anything that in it's small, quiet way reminds people you were here :)

  199. Too stinkin' cute! Notes serve as a great way to brighten someone's day and remind them that they were on your mind!

  200. That would be so fun to win a book of notes from the creator of them herself! :) After seeing yours on the blog, I've made several for friends, and people have always loved them. My favorite was when I gave a book of notes to my friend's teacher so she would receive it in the middle of the day! Delivering (and receiving) notes are so fun!
